About Us
Stewart Farm is a new vendor at Centre Markets. We are bringing our homemade soups, quiches, main dishes, and more made from the vegetables we grow on our Pennsylvania Bicentennial Farm, an eighth generation family farm located in Stone Valley.
Practices
Our 150-acre farm, which was purchased from the Penns in 1793, has been in constant agricultural production by our family ever since. Our hay fields are certified organic and we use no pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. Our large spring and stream are fenced away from grazing animals and we treat the valuable water supply entrusted to us with care.
We grow vegetables, berries, and flowers using organic methods. We sell the vegetables at Pine Grove Mills Farmers Market and we also turn the tomatoes, potatoes, onions, herbs and so on into delicious meals. We offer many kinds of jam from local fruit with that farm-fresh intense flavor, and bake our signature pies in an all-butter crust.
